Queen of the South – A Modern Reworking by Wrench² Studio is an interactive installation inspired by Alvin Lucier’s 1972 work. This reinterpretation explores sound and materiality through vibration, improvisation, real-time audio interaction, and layered visual feedback in an immersive environment. Using Chladni Figures, it visualises sound waves as geometric patterns on vibrating surfaces. A custom long table integrates with the space, hosting shifting sonic patterns. Audience gestures via a mechanical hand trigger immediate sonic changes, while projections employ digital and AI processes to transform acoustic imagery into new visual forms. Together, these elements create a sensory experience that reveals how sound, matter, and space shape one another and how acoustic phenomena can be reimagined through technology.
